Son Imitate as Dead Mother to Steal $70,000 from Dad's Bank Account
Trstdly - A UK man has cruelly fooled his own father. Daniel Cuthbert, 42, was sentenced to two years in prison after imitating his dead mother. His mother died in 2017.
Over 14 months, Daniel tricked and took more than £56,000 ($70,000) from his father's bank account. He took on the voices of his father and late mother during calls with the bank.
Through police investigations, Daniel made at least nine calls. He uses his mother's name and answers security questions. He asked for a transfer of money from his parents' account to another account.
Daniel took all of his father's savings, including his redundancy payments. He also took out many loans in his father's name.
The fraud was revealed when Daniel's father noticed strange activity in his bank account. Although he suspects his son, he tries to believe that Daniel is not involved in the case.
He realized when a building company told him he would lose his house. That's because his son unpaid the loans without his knowledge.
Daniel Cuthbert faces so many audio proofs. He finally admitted to fraud. A judge at Preston Crown Court sentenced him to two years in prison for his scamming acts.
