As reported by BBC Sport, Manchester United has made a new statement about Antony's recent career at the club.

The club has agreed with the player that he will delay his return indefinitely to resolve the issue.

"It has been agreed with Antony that he will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegation," the club said in a statement.

"As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse."

Antony is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, in a Manchester hotel room on January 15.

Even so, he proclaimed his innocence to a Brazilian television station, saying "I never assaulted any woman" and adding that "the truth will come out".
