This policy was explained by co-founder Bhavit Sheth in an interview with CNBC.
"Once a year, for one week, you're completely disconnected from the system. You have no access to Slack, emails, or calls.
This allows you to have a full week of uninterrupted time off, and it also helps the company assess whether we're too dependent on any one individual."
Harsh Jain and Bhavit Seth, co-founders of the company, said.
So far, this system has proven effective for Dream11 employees, according to Sheth.
As stated on official statement, the company believes that this uninterrupted break allows its employees to relax, recharge, and return to work with renewed energy.
This fine is a method of ensuring that Dream11 employees enjoy high-quality rest time.
According to the International Labor Organization, the traditional nine-to-five work schedule is different for more than half of the global workforce.
Globally, the average working week was around 43.9 hours, as reported by the ILO before the pandemic.
